Testing Face Masks

So recently I have been trying several skincare products but my favorite to try of all time are face masks and to make it even better affordable face masks. In LA there are several places to shop for face masks. Near my house there is a store called Daiso Japan which is basically an Japanese dollar store except in this store everything is $1.50 unless stated otherwise. I have so much trouble in these stores because everything is so cute and affordable I end up leaving the store with so many products.

During one of these store visits I encountered some face masks. The first one being the BB Face Mask with Collagen

The packaging is so adorable and even though I don't read in japanese (or talk) I noticed it was one of those white sheets you put on your face for about 10-15 minutes. I did just that and right away I felt refreshed, once the time was up I am supposed to let the remaining product soak in my skin. I used this mask during the night time and when I woke up the following day my skin felt so soft and plumper. I didn't really believe in feeling my skin plump but surprisingly it did.

Onto the next mask I decided to buy was the Santee Green Tea Essence Mask which is another one of those white sheet masks. This one also felt nice and cool but I did not feel much of a difference afterwards. With this one I did feel my skin more hydrated but it wasn't what I expected. Maybe i'll try the same brand again but different mask soon.

Another mask that I tried was the Animal Panda Whitening Mask, now this mask I didn't purchase at Daiso but at a small shop in Little Tokyo but it is also found online. I went for this mask specifically because they carry different animals and this black panda one claims to have coconut water and whitening energy to whiten skin and clarify and brighten skin tone. Also provides immediate hydration and increase the skins moisture.

This mask was probably my favorite. Not only is the panda face cute but it was definitely worth the price, although my skin didn't necessarily "whiten" it did feel brighter and more hydrated. This mask wasn't $1.50 like the other masks but it was $3.50 which is not bad considering what it provides for my skin.

These masks overall were worth trying and I recommend anyone with a budget to give these a try for a nice pick me up on their skin.

What are your favorite masks and why? Comment below.

Coffee Scrub

Skin care is a topic that is talked about all the time. I am constantly trying to find products that will work with my complicated skin type. I have oily acne-prone skin, with that being said I have to find products that not only will control my oil but also keep me hydrated. However, besides trying new products either high-end or drugstore I am also very interested in products that can be used from my kitchen. For example today I will talk about coffee scrub.

I've seen many people on Instagram use coffee scrubs for both body and face but the product I'm using was not found online. A nice lady, friend of mine that I would always see at my old job would use our espresso grounds and make a scrub out of it. She made so many and gave me a jar for free so I decided why not try it.

Cute packaging right!
So I decided to use this to exfoliate and left it in my skin like a mask for about 10 minutes. I kept it in my fridge so it felt fresh on my skin. It also seemed to have coconut oil which is very moisturizing. Heres a little preview of how it looks once applied:

After washing off the coffee scrub I immediately noticed my skin smoother and I had little glow. I didn't look too oily but also not matte. My face felt balanced, hydrated and clean. I have some exfoliating products that also gave me similar results but those products are from Lush.
This product was not made by a company, it was completely home made and a little goes a long way with it. I am extremely happy with the results and can not thank the lady who made this enough. I can ask her for the exact ingredients in this and hopefully she will share her recipe so that you too can make this at home! If you are interested please let me know :)
